The initial contact from Claire was professional and demonstrated a company who want to provide their customers with a quality service – a refreshing change from a previous provider of cleaning services.
The Cleanhome service is very efficient: they found me a reliable cleaner and were very attentive to my needs.
We have been using your cleaning service since May 2015 and are very pleased with the cleaner we have each week. She is very trustworthy, reliable and helpful and I am very happy with the service we receive.
Dawn has been punctual and has carried out her required duties in a conscientious and very acceptable manner. I have no hesitation in recommending her.
Puppy training takes time and a whole lot of patience. Puppy accidents are part of the process but did you know ordinary cleaners might not actually be cleaning the mess? It is possible even after using a standard cleaner the puppy can still pick up the sent. The scent is the tricky bit to remove.
Intekclean.com suggests to blot urine to absorb it from the carpet fibers. Use a slow motion but strong dab ensuring not to rub it only blot it up and down with a stack of paper towels. Once the towel will not absorb anymore use a fresh one. Once you’ve blotted as much as possible, use a pet carpet cleaner to remove the scent.
Collect any faecal matter with extra care not to spread or push it into the carpet fibers. A good way to do this is to use two pieces of cardboard to collect it. See the wikihow.com guide for more detail.
Dampen a dried mess using cool or lukewarm water. Carefully blot the stain using a paper towel ensuring again that you do not push the stain further into the fibers. Wikihow.com also shows how best to do this.
Use an enzymatic cleaner to clean the stain. These are specially designed to eat away at any messes made by pets and remove any lingering scents the animals might smell. A great list of example products is shown on thesprucepets.com. Spray the area with the cleaner and leave for 5-10 minutes the absorb the mess. Then use a toothbrush to scrub deep into the fibers. Use an upwards motion to stop pushing the stain further into the carpet. Ensure you test the cleaner on a small part of the carpet first to avoid any discolouration.
If you do not have any enzymatic cleaners then you can use a mixture of 1 teaspoon of laundry detergent or dish soap with 1 cup of lukewarm water. Follow the same process of applying with the toothbrush then leave it to sit for a few minutes before carefully scrubbing the stain. Blot the area with paper towels to dry the newly cleaned area. See the great wikihow.com guide for this.
Wikihow.com also says the other method to clean the stains is to rent a vacuum-based carpet cleaner. Using the machine go over the stain once with the sprayers on and then once again without the spray. This will apply the cleaning solution then ensure it is fully removed along with all the puppy messes.
We hope these methods will help to remove those stains and get you further along in the potty training process.
Just to let you know we are open for business as usual and you can continue to have your cleaner clean your house.
The government has made it clear that cleaners are still permitted to work inside peoples' homes as long as Government Guidelines on social distancing and staying safe are followed (see below). In summary:
You can be outside of your home for work purposes where your place of work remains open and where you cannot work from home, including if your job involves working in other people's homes.
The full text can be found here New National Restrictions from 5 January (in England; there are similar texts available for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland). Specifically relating to cleaners, the guidance continues: 'This guidance applies to those working in, visiting or delivering to home environments. These include, but are not limited to, people working in the following areas:
Note this guidance is for people who are fit and well, and is dependent on the following social distancing guidelines being followed:
The good news with regard to cleaning is that the cleaners can social distance from their clients very easily, and we would advise that, if you are at home when they are there, that you remain in a separate room to your cleaner.
If you are happy to adhere to the government guidelines - and if your cleaner has not been in touch already - then please just call the office and we will ensure that your cleaning continues.
Best regards
